Hi Andy,
We are potentially looking at this area within Surrey in relation to
mental health care for older people- but we do not currently have
anything set up in Second Life - do you have a Slurl / location which we
could visit, it sounds of interest?
Thanks
Nicola

list ]
Hello everybody
I'm Andy Whiteford, working in the School of Nursing Midwifery and
Community Health at Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland.
I've modelled a SL version of the University's (real) clinical
simulation laboratory, (it's a section of a hospital) but my real
interest is in running Nurse Education scenarios in SL, so I'm looking
at:
- SL patient avatar BOTs & linking them to non SL-client software.
- Intelligent BOT hosting with custom AIML for nursing scenarios.
- the emerging "MedBiquitous Virtual Patients" [MVP] standards &
software
- Labyrinth software - implementation of MVP files.
- simulation of medical equipment - vital signs monitors etc.
- linking real patient mannequins and models to SL
I'd also like to investigate the forthcoming puppeteering technology,
which will certainly be useful for nurse/ medical education, providing
more realistic movement, interaction & expression.
But it's all just spare time investigations & unfunded, so far.
I'm happy to talk to anyone about this stuff......
-Andy-
