The latest in our series of discussions is “Can SL be used to help teach web
searching?” to be held today (1st May) at 12 noon SL time, 8pm UK time, on
Infolit iSchool (113,189,22) in Second Life. Discussion led by Sheila Yoshikawa
(me), with input from (SL name) Nathanoj Kangjon (a Masters student on our
Educational Informatics module, possibly plus some of his colleagues).
How much use is SL in helping people learn how to search the web? Is it just
useful for making underlying concepts “concrete”? Have people any activities or
“objects” they would like to share? (Please bring them along and rez them!).
This question is being addressed by a group of students in our Educational
Informatics class, as part of an assignment.
Sorry for the late announcement of this in RL.
