The research group 'Emotion and Social Cognition' (Dep. of Psychiatry at
Rostock University) seeks a postdoc for functional imaging research.
Our research group focuses on affect generation and affect regulation, on
face recognition and social interaction as well as on the influence of
neuropeptides on social cognition in healthy volunteers and samples of
psychiatric patients (e.g. with personality disorders, ADHD, Autism spectrum
disorders).
Methods concern functional and structural neuroimaging in addition to
neurophysiological tools. A 1.5 T Avanto scanner with further tools for DTI,
eye-tracking and psychophysiological assessment is available. We expect a 3
T scanner for 2009.
The candidate should hold a PhD in either psychology, neuroscience,
cognitive science, or a related field, and an outstanding interest in
affective and social cognitive neuroscience.
We seek to hire a creative and enthusiastic individual with expertise in
experimental psychology and functional neuroimaging with best methodological
and statistical knowledge. The main recruitment criterion will be a
background in fMRI acquisition and analysis techniques (SPM / FSL / Brain
Voyager / Matlab / Presentation, etc.).
The position starting in June or later will be offered for 2 years initially
and is extendable by another 2 years after successful evaluation. For this
position the requirements for employment according to TV-L E13 East apply
(equal to TV-L E13 West from 2010).
