The SPA executive decided some time ago that the Association should
issue a set of guidelines on research ethics and set up a small
working group to develop these. A seminar was held in Manchester in
January 2008 to look at the ethical issues of particular significance
for social policy research and to learn from the experience of other
professional associations and individual researchers. A draft set of
guidelines has now been drawn up by the working group and can be
accessed on the Social Policy Association website at the following link:
http://www.social-policy.com/documents/SPAethicsguidelines.pdf
If you have any comments or suggestions for amendments pleas could you
send them to me by Monday 2nd June.
Many thanks
Karen Clarke
