We are doing a study of the sexual attitudes and lifestyles of London's
Eastern Europeans in order to address the health needs of migrant
communities.
We would be very grateful if you could take the time to read the information
below to see whether you may be able to help.
How can you help?
We need to locate gay Eastern European men in London who have arrived in the
UK since 2000 to complete our questionnaire. We are asking for your help in
trying to contact these men:
* Do you know any gay Eastern European men who have moved to
London? Would you be able to pass on our contact details to them?
* Do you know any Internet discussion boards where we might be
able to reach gay Eastern European men who live in London? If you are the
owner of a discussion board, would you mind if we posted a message about our
study on your discussion board?
* Do you have any other suggestions about how we might contact
gay Eastern European men in London?
What does taking part in the study involve?
Taking part involves completing a questionnaire which takes about five to
ten minutes. We will provide information about the study to men who may be
interested in taking part and explain to them that taking part is entirely
voluntary.
Is participation in the study confidential?
Yes. We do not ask any identifying questions in the questionnaire so nobody
can be recognised from their answers. All information will be kept strictly
confidential and held securely at University College London (UCL).
Who is organising and funding this study?
This study is funded by the UK Medical Research Council. It is being
undertaken by a team of researchers based at UCL. Dr Fiona Burns is
responsible for the project. Ethical approval for the study has been
obtained from the National Health Service.
looking forward to hearing from you
