Hi All
A bit late in the day - unless I missed it from someone else - I am
drawing the Group's attention to the current Ofcom consultation on
public service broadcasting.
For those of you who have not seen it, Ofcom have produced a rather
interesting review of the current state and future prospects for PSB
in the post DSO environment. The key issue revolves around the
continuing (or not) PSB content and funding of ITV and channels 4 and
5.
The consultaion (and a good executive summary, plus questions) can be found at
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/psb2_1/
I am coordinating a response for VLV. However, my suggestion - given
that ofcom 'weighs' as well as 'measures' responses - that individuals
respond directly to Ofcom but also, if you post your thoughts on this
list, then we (and other groups such as the CFPB) can incorporate your
ideas into their responses as well.
The deadline for Ocom is 19 June but, in view of the above, thoughts
posted asap would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Ivor
