Dear All,
Here at the LSE we subscribe to a few KLI titles in print, which we pay
for individually. We also subscribe to a slightly larger number of KLI
titles electronically. This electronic package includes the titles we
have in print plus a few additional electronic only titles and is
charged as a group.
We have recently been informed by our subscription agent that for the
2008 print titels and ejournal package KLI are changing their pricing
structure.
For 2008 we will be charged a discounted rate for our print only titles.
And the charge for the electronic component will be incorporated into
the single ejournal package/invoice.
We have looked at the various charges as a whole and (you know what's
coming next) the net result is that the reduced amount we'll be paying
for the print is not matched, but exceeded by, the increase charge for
the electronic package (which is subject to VAT of course). The bottom
line is that we'll be paying almost 50% extra for all our KLI
subscriptions than we had budgeted for.
KLI have only just informed us of this, three quarters of the way
through our financial year. We don't appear to be getting anything extra
for our money either nor have KLI given any explanation to us why these
changes are taking place.
Does anyone else subscribe to any KLI titles and is in a similar
situation?
Regards
Lisa
