MESSAGE for IEEE/IET Electronic Library Subscribers
Dear IEEE/IET Electronic Library Subscribers,
I thought it might be useful to share some information with you
regarding the DOI's for IET (and IEE) material. Some users have
reported instances where their users have been directed to the IET DL
hosted by Scitation instead of IEEE Xplore. This has been causing some
frustration.
The following is a brief summary of the situation posted by IET
Technical Staff
"All IET (and IEE) DOIs have primary URLs that point to the IET Digital
Library. It is intended that they should also all have secondary URLs
registered by IEEE that point to IEL. We believe that between a half and
two-thirds have both URLs and so offer the customer a choice of
locations.
We have been working with IEEE on this and will continue to do so to get
secondary URLs for the remaining items registered. This should then
enable
customers to set their link resolvers to take their users to the
appropriate copy."
Kind regards
Steven Tweedie
