Hi Christoph,
thanks for your quick answer.

I'm a bit puzzled now:
[root@glite-wms root]# echo $LCG_GFAL_INFOSYS
lcg-bdii.cern.ch:2170
but:
[root@glite-wms root]# grep LCG_GFAL_INFOSYS /opt/glite/etc/profile.d/g*
/opt/glite/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh:gridenv_set
"LCG_GFAL_INFOSYS" "bdii-fzk.gridka.de:2170"
ldapsearch works on both BDIIs, but were does it take the CERN one
from??
[root@glite-wms etc]# grep -R lcg-bdii.cern.ch *
[root@glite-wms etc]# pwd
/opt/glite/etc
[root@glite-wms etc]# cd /opt/lcg/etc/
[root@glite-wms etc]# pwd
/opt/lcg/etc
[root@glite-wms etc]# grep -R lcg-bdii.cern.ch *
Cheers,
Torsten
