I think that it is important not to use social inequalities as a
reason to ignore new developments. There are many ways in which
people are socially disadvantaged but this is not necessarily one of
them - a lot of these social networks
are completely free.
I don't know about Andy, but dealing with metadata and information
management can sometimes be very boring! :-0
I completely agree with you though, that the basic information
structure is essential but I don't see why other work has to happen
too or why people can't do things that they feel passionate about.
