Hi Juliette,
For movement/drawing try Rebecca Horn: Bodylandscapes Drawing,
Sculpture, Installations. This book followed her exhibition at the
HAYWARD gallery London 2005, its expensive now but perhaps you can
loan a copy. She deals with artificial extensions of the body, head,
fingers etc, She also uses moving sculptures to draw on wall surfaces.
Another artist who uses drawing as process is Jordan McKenzie
(featured in TRACEY Drawing Now published by I.B. Taurus London and
New York). He draws/makes marks with feet, arms and body. He often
pulls objects, cubes across the floor to make the drawing.
Have you looked at the area of Psychic Automatism -'automatic
doodling' where one is not totally in control of mark and gesture. Or
drawing in a room with no light, perhaps with chalk on black walls/or
the reverse...again you cannot predetermine the work.
Cant help with the dance I'm afraid...although there is John Cage and
his gestural drawings paintings on smoked paper (fumage process I
think?) relating/connecting to music.
Good luck
Keith Barley.
