A few weeks ago I sent a message to the list about a survey of
user-controlled research in England being carried out by Shaping Our
Lives, Social Perspectives Network and the Centre for Citizen
Participation at Brunel University.
We've had a good response from projects being carried out by mental
health service users but would really like to hear more from projects
run by disabled people and by people with learning difficulties.
We should be clear that when we are talking about user-controlled
research we also mean emancipatory research and that when we talk about
service users we include disabled people, people with learning
difficulties, older people, people living with HIV/AIDS, palliative care
service users, and others who use health and social care services.
The questionnaire for the survey can be filled in at
www.pmhcwn.org.uk/involve.asp
If you have any questions or need any help with this, please e-mail me
directly.
Thanks
Michael Turner
