Subject: ASYLUM SEEKER AND FAMILY ARRESTED AND FACED WITH DEPORTATION
Claude Ndeh is a French teacher who was tortured and imprisoned for eight
months in Cameroon for protesting against the illegal executions of nine
young boys. Claude and his wife have three young children. They were granted
the right to remain in the UK by the High Court but the Home Office has
overturned their ruling. Two of Claude's children have Sickle Cell Anaemia
and Sheffield Children's Hospital have warned that they will live only a few
years if they are forced to return to Cameroon.
On Saturday 10th May Claude and his family were arrested and taken to
Yarlswood Immigration Detention Centre. They have been told that they are to
be deported back to Cameroon this Saturday 17th May.
Please send a fax, email, ring, write to Jackie Smith MP (the Home
Secretary) and ask that Claude and his family not be deported and be given
the right to stay in the UK. Her office telephone number is 020 7035 4848,

The National Union of Teachers supports Claude's campaign to stay in
Britain. If you are an NUT member please ask your general secretary and
branch to urgently contact the Home Office and ask that Claude be given
leave to stay in the UK.
Please help us keep Claude in Sheffield.
