The Animation Academy at Loughborough University School of Art and

one day symposium, ‘Visualising Space : Animating the Universe’.
The day will explore how ‘Space’ has been addressed and represented
by the field of animation, and the science community, each striving
to reveal and demonstrate ‘the final frontier’, and the wonders of
the Universe.
Presentations and Panel Discussions looking at a range of topics and
issues, and engaging with all things from ‘Duck Dodgers in the 24and
a half Century’ to the working life of animated Astronauts, to the
configuration of the planets, will be followed by the inaugural UK
showing of the Space Centre’s new panaromic Dome show.
The day will be accessible and useful to artists and scientists,
cartoon fans and astronomy buffs, animation students and scholars of
the Universe.
Tickets cost £20/£15 (conc.), and can be booked through Gareth Howell
