MISSION OF IJMHCI:
Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts for possible publication in the International Journal of Mobile Human Computer Interaction. The primary objective of IJMHCI is to provide comprehensive coverage and understanding of the issues associated with the design, evaluation, and use of mobile technologies. The journal will focus on human-computer interaction related innovation and research in the design, evaluation, and use of innovative handheld, mobile, and wearable technologies in order to broaden the overall body of knowledge regarding such issues. It will also consider issues associated with the social and/or organizational impacts of such technologies.

o Non-speech audio-based interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Speech-based interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Graphical interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Gestural interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Tactile interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Multimodal interaction on mobile technologies
o Other emerging interaction techniques for mobile technologies
o Design methods/approaches for mobile user interfaces
o Issues of heterogeneity of mobile device interfaces/interaction
o User interface migration from desktop to mobile technologies
o Mobile commerce application design, evaluation, and use
o Mobile healthcare application design, evaluation, and use
o Mobile learning application design, evaluation, and use
o Mobile advanced training application design, evaluation, and use
o Mobile assistive technologies design, evaluation, and use
o Mobile technology design, evaluation, and use by special (needs) groups - e.g., elderly, children, disabled
o Mobile interactive play design, evaluation, and use
o Context-aware/context-sensitive mobile application design, evaluation, and use
o Wearable technology/application and interaction design, evaluation, and use
o User aspects of mobile privacy, security, and trust
o Technology acceptance as it relates to mobile technologies
o User interface architectures for mobile technologies
o Mobile HCI lab design/set-up
o Lab-based evaluations and evaluation techniques
o Field-based evaluations and evaluation techniques
o Lab v. field evaluations and evaluation techniques
o Ethical implications of mobile evaluations
o Case studies and/or reflections on experience in any of the above - e.g. descriptions of successful mobile user interfaces, evaluation set-ups, etc.
o All other related issues that impact the design, evaluation, and use of mobile technologies.
SUBMITTING TO IJMHCI:
Prospective authors should note that only original and previously unpublished manuscripts will be considered. INTERESTED AUTHORS SHOULD CONSULT THE JOURNAL'S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-global.com/IJMHCI. All manuscript submissions will be forwarded to at least four members of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal for a double-blind, peer review. Final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers. All submissions must be forwarded electronically to [log in to unmask] Deadline for submission for consideration in the next available issue is 1st June 2008.
