PRIMENT CTU STATISTICIAN VACANCIES
Joint Appointments at MRC GPRF (North Gower St) and Marie Curie Palliative
Care Research Unit at the Department of Mental Health Sciences, UCL (Royal
Free Campus)
JUNIOR STATISTICIAN
Salary
£23,122-£34,932 pa inclusive of London Weighting
(Band 4-5) dependent on previous experience and may be negotiable for
exceptional candidates.
The applicant will work on a programme of research on mental health, cancer
and terminal illness. The post will be based at the MRC GPRF and Marie
Curie Palliative Care Research Unit (that work with the Departments of
Mental Health Sciences and Primary Care and Population Health) at UCL.
The applicant will work on the: THIN database (created from UK general
practice clinical data with information on about 5 million patients);
design and analyses of trials; PREDICT European cohort (a primary study on
common mental disorders in family practice) and specific research on
palliative care and cancer including aspects relating to continuity of
cancer care, psychological aspects of terminal illnesses and the clinical
and cost effectiveness of treatments for the end of life disorders.
Duration of post & Tenure
Fixed Term Full-Time for 1 year (in the first instance).
SENIOR STATISTICIAN
Salary
£38,877-£46,638pa inclusive of London Weighting
(Band 3) dependent on previous experience and may be negotiable for
exceptional candidates.
The applicant will work on a programme of research on mental health, cancer
and terminal illness. S/he will be expected to work independently as well
in a supervisory capacity and will be expected to apply existing well
tested method whilst also identifying new methods to the analyses of
studies undertaken by the two units.
