Applications are invited for the above post working on a study of the safety and harms of antidepressant drugs in older people. The aim of this HTA funded study is to establish the relative safety and balance of risks for individual antidepressant drugs in a cohort of people aged 65 and over who have been diagnosed with depression using a large dataset extracted from a Primary Care Database (QRESEARCH).
The main responsibilities will include working closely with members of the project team to develop the statistical methods in the analysis plan, extracting and manipulating data, analysing data from the database and preparing reports, conference abstracts and papers for submission to peer reviewed journals.
Candidates should have a Masters degree or equivalent in medical statistics or epidemiology. Experience of data management and statistical analysis using Stata software and of research experience in a health setting is also required. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Salary will be within the range £25,134 - £32,796 per annum, pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £35,837 per annum, subject to performance). Hours of work are full-time, however, applications are also invited from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum of 25 hours per week). This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of one year.
