QUANTITATIVE BIOLOGY AND APPLIED STATISTICS
Applications are invited for a lectureship in Computational Biology in the
Quantitative Biology and Applied Statistics section of the School of
Biological Sciences at the University of Reading
We seek a enthusiastic and talented lecturer in the Quantitative Biology
and Applied Statistics section to strengthen research and teaching
excellence in Computational Biology and Applied Statistics.
We are particularly interested in candidates with research experience in
areas such as phylogenetic inference using Markov Chain Monte Carlo
approaches and with the ability to teach Computational Biology and Applied
Statistics at undergraduate and Masters levels.
Candidates should have the ability to conduct research in computational
biology and bioinformatics, the ability to teach areas of computational
methods and topics in statistics, knowledge of modern statistical
techniques and have a PhD in Computational Biology or Biological
Statistics or Computer Science or a related field
The post is permanent, fulltime and available from 1 September 2008. The
payscale is £31,840 to £42,971 per annum.
