POST 1: SENIOR LECTURER IN MEDICAL STATISTICS (0.6 FTE)
A statistician is required to join the Medical Statistics Team located within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Department of Public Health. You will be involved in teaching on a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and a number of courses for staff. In addition, you will provide statistical support to a variety of research projects as well as offer statistical consultancy to staff in the University and Grampian NHS. You will also be expected to develop your own area of research consistent with the Institute's research strategy.
You should have a sound background in statistics from a PhD in statistics, epidemiology or health related research and experience of teaching statistics preferably at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You should have experience in the design, conduct and analysis of quantitative research projects. Experience in grant applications and a track record in peer reviewed publications are necessary. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
This post is available on a 60% of full-time basis.
Salary will be on the Grade 8 scale (£42,135 - £48,846 per annum pro rata), with placement according to qualifications and experience.

You should have experience in the design, conduct and analysis of quantitative research projects. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
This post will be offered for a period of 3 years.
Salary will be on the Grade 7 scale (£34,260 - £40,909 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
