Teaching Assistant Bursaries in Statistics - Department of Statistics,
University of Oxford
The Department of Statistics has up to 3 teaching assistant bursaries
available for research students joining the department in October 2008.
The bursaries cover the full cost of fees together with a maintenance grant
of £12,000 per year, to the extent that these costs are not covered by
other awards.
Teaching is likely to be required in the subject areas in which the
Department has maximal need. These include statistics, applied probability
and actuarial science.
Each teaching assistantship is for three years, subject to satisfactory
academic progress and satisfactory performance of the associated duties,
and is available to students of any nationality. Bursary holders will be
required to carry out a total of 120 hours of teaching or related duties
per year, including an allowance for preparation and marking. Bursaries
will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and of ability to carry out
the associated teaching responsibilities.
