On November 3-4, 2008, the conference
INSURING FUTURE CLIMATE CHANGE
- preparing and acting today
will be held in Oslo, Norway. The conference is part of the Marie Curie
Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) programme "Climate
Change and the insurance industry, CCII", and is hosted by Gjensidige
Forsikring, the Norwegian Computing Center (NR) and (sfi)² Statistics
for Innovation.
A preliminary program, detailed information and the registration form
are available at the conference website:
http://www.climateinsure.no
The goal is to bring together researchers, stakeholders and
decision-makers from insurance, science and politics. A two-day
conference provides an ideal opportunity for intensive discussions on
the considerable challenges facing the insurance industry.
The conference sessions intend to present theoretical knowledge as well
as practical tools on estimating climate risk, mapping risk
geographically, possibilities and limits of adaptation, and
communicating risk.
