Dear all,
I would be interested to know if any libraries / repositories /
universities issue DOIs for internally produced publications, such as
working papers and reports (rather than journals or conference
proceedings per se). If so, have you joined CrossRef to do this? or are
you using another method?
There has been some interest here in providing a mechanism for
persistent identification here at York and although I think this can be
achieved in other ways (a handle server, through the repository etc.)
DOIs are recognised by academics and for the relatively low cost, could
be a worthwhile investment to support better management of resources.
Any thoughts or experiences would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Julie
