Anyone heard of this organisation / system? They want to come from the
local authority and train all our OOH docs and staff and can't do it by
distance learning methods so it is very daunting. Below is an extract
from their information. It seems to be a national initiative and they
have to report back by the end of this month.
>I have been given your name in relation to introducing ContactPoint -
> The National Online Directory of Children's Information. The
Directory will be the quick tool for practitioners
> to find out who is working with a child.
>
> The main points about ContactPoint are:
>
> * ContactPoint is a key element of the Every Child Matters
> programme to transform children’s services by supporting more
> effective prevention and early intervention. ContactPoint is one
> of a range of tools that will help services work together more
> effectively on the frontline to meet the needs of children,
> young people and their families. It will provide benefits in;
> saving time identifying other practitioners, quicker assessment
> of whether a child is receiving universal services and enable
> more effective multi-agency working.
> * Training and User Management will be provided by the Council and
> after deployment of ContactPoint to Birmingham in Spring 2009
> BCC will have 9 months to train High Priority users, including
> health.
