Statistician- Career Development Fellow (Cambridge)
£25,368 to £26,414 per annum
The MRC Biostatistics Unit aims to advance medical science by the
development, application and dissemination of statistical methods. It is
one of Europe’s leading biostatistics research institutions and includes
many internationally renowned statisticians. It provides a privileged
environment for conducting research, with negligible administration, no
requirement to teach, and access to important applications of high public
interest.
The successful applicant will contribute to a programme of research to map
the shape of trajectories over the lifecourse, synthesising data from
different studies. This is a three year training and development post.
Work will be in both Cambridge and London, although allocation between the
two is flexible.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Statistics, preferably Medical
Statistics, and experience of meta-analysis or longitudinal data analysis
and sound knowledge of statistical software.
You will need good interpersonal skills to develop working relationships
inside and outside the unit; to be a committed team member with flexible
approach to work; to be well organised; to give attention to detail and to
have high standards.
