Dear colleagues,
This is to update my email of 1 March 2008.
Last year we (SWWT) provided some inputs for the Astronet activity that is developing a long-term plan for the development of European astronomy. These were fed into the preparation of the Astronet Science Vision (see http://www.astronet-eu.org/-Science-Vision). The final verison contains many references to space weather.
The next step in Astronet is to develop an Infrastructure Roadmap. This will be discussed at an Astronet Symposium this summer. So if you are interested to lobby for inclusion of facilities relevant to the science of space weather, I would encourage you to attend this event. It takes place in Liverpool (UK) on 16-19 June. For more information, see the meeting web site at http://www.astro.livjm.ac.uk/~airs2008/. Registration is now open. Attendance is limited to 400 so if you wish to attend, please register soon.
Best wishes,
Mike Hapgood
