Yes some never made it to UNIX.
> that there was a TPAU application which we don't have in subversion... And
TPAU bifurcated into XDISPLAY (retaining SUN/129) and LOG (SUN/135).
Shame as TPAU would go well with Picard. Talking of interesting names I
had a doubletake last night seeing an HGV labelled "SMURFIT Kappa".
> TAUCAL, and SAM. Never heard of the STEVE editor either.
These Figaroan packages came from Cambridge. We have SUN/147 (TAUCAL)
but not the MUD/71. Jim Lewis might have the source; I only have a
paper copy. I can't recall what happened to the packages. There was
the purge of spectroscopy packages, and one might have expected SAM to
have been folded in, unless they were never ported to UNIX.
STEVE was a UCL enhanced version of the VMS EVE editor with EDT-style
features. It wasn't ported for the obvious reason. Efforts to retain
EDT-like features were directed towards jed.

SUN/71 was originally (1985) ADC. That's another document that MDL
recycled. Is it too late to restore the original documents and give the
newer documents new numbers in sequence? It shouldn't be too hard to
fix up the hyperlinks and references internally. Could Google to see
the external usage. A job for SMURFIT Kappa Recycling UK?
> Something to do on a rainy day (copy them to docs/obsolete).
So we can expect these real soon now, given Hilo weather? (-: By
"something" do you want to recover the software as well as the
documentation?
Some of the manuals we have in docs/sun should be moved to the obsolete
tree too. The SGPs are of historical interest, and anyone who
wants to reinvent a Starlink-like system in another discpline might
benefit from studying them.
