I did hear those doodle bugs then being told if I didn't hear them there was
trouble and Granny taking me to see an incendiary bomb in a tree (well at
least she said it was one) and I got told off and hauled back into our
shelter for cheering on the wrong planes 'they are not ours!'
And that is why I have been wearing nappies ever since
Tried to find some of the poems I wrote about -here's one
GRANNY CUDDLY
Black on white
planes in sight
shelter muddy
granny cuddly
overhead aircraft fly
I wave scream shout cry
but no not ours not ours
whipped back back inside
black cold steel box
but granny cuddly
peek out again
they're ours they're ours
I wave scream shout cry
victory victory victory
black on white
planes in sight
shelter muddy
granny cuddly.

The Pope mite have something to say about that thesis, Mister Atheist McP!
As well, p'raps, as rapping you on the knuckles for yr bold lies about
flying bombs et al----you were a nappy-wearing, crumb-crushing li'l squirt
in those days!
But I forgive you your hallucinated past.....
Now go and collect your wonderful ravaged (folio) bits, and I'll meet you
this summer for a Proper Raynes Park early-morning pub crawl (pole-dancing
included, if a nother person or 2 accompanies me).
joodles who never met a GI she didn't like

Joodles !!!!a voice from far off what joy -my computer is on the blink (like
myself)still bits of the folio survive the ravages of time (I love these
clichés) and a then report and later a thesis on early Christian art by
me(already an atheist!!) Ah young and in Rome just after the war 'abroad!!
Was something special those days all our holidays were in England (pre
oil/flight madness but post flying bombs!! 'abroad ' was a different word
then had a ring of magic to it -of course though we did have all those GIs
coming over in wartime
Cheers Patrick
