Can anyone tell me where in the British Isles mine-related wooden rising mains/pump pipes have been found? I'm aware of the 16th century example in Geevor Museum, while I saw a rather unloved pine one at Wheal Martyn several years ago, though no-one seemed to know where it was from.
I'm aware that elm waterpipes were used in urban water supplies in the 17th-18th centuries - was this also the case in mining?
