Hi Rhiannon,
At Wessex Archaeology, the "web person" (i.e. me) was until recently
in the IT department. A month ago, I moved into the Communications
section (who look after education, outreach, press and publications).
We are looking to appoint a developer to undertake more of the day to
day technical tasks, and a writer to help us produce more content. The
web developer will be in the IT section and the writer will be in the
Communications section, liaising with all other departments.
As Web Manager within the Communications section I will coordinate a
cross-departmental team (who will have additional roles within their
departments). Or so I'm told.
Cheers,
Tom
