Hi Rachel,
This looks really interesting - I'm sorry I missed the meeting in
Swansea last week.
If you happen to be at the Museums and Heritage Show next week in Earls
Court please drop by our stand and I can show you some of our most
recent projects.
All the best,
Mike

Subject: Museums Galleries Scotland launches Digital Content Action
Framework [Scanned]
Good to meet some new people and see some old faces at the MCG meeting
last week - a very interesting day at a great venue. I just wanted to
let people know that Museums Galleries Scotland (formerly the Scottish
Museums Council) has just published its Digital Content Action Framework
2008-2011. This new publication has been informed by member and
stakeholder consultation and is designed to provide our members with a
practical toolkit to inform their digital activity. Museums Galleries
Scotland recognises that collections remain the core of sector activity
and therefore places digital content at the centre of the framework with
the creation, delivery, sharing and preservation of content its priority
themes. The publication looks at issues around each theme and is
underpinned by an action framework of objectives from both Museums
Galleries Scotland and our member museums and galleries. Through this
framework we aim to support our members with best practice advice,
guidance and training at a level appropriate to their needs.
The action framework is available as a pdf on our website at
http://www.scottishmuseums.org.uk/pdfs/Digital_Content_Action_Framework.
pdf . Please contact me for further information.
Thanks.
