I beg to differ. I have both Blogger and Wordpress blogs, and Wordpress
wins every time. It's so much easier to build the pages and insert
widgets. Its themes are much prettier, or more varied for those of you
who don't like pretty. I like the fact you can create static pages, so
it looks like a normal website.
And if you are managing multiple blogs, you want them all in one
dashboard. The only plus point for Blogger is that it is part of Google,
so it's convenient to access it.
I tried ELGG too. It was just far too secure, ironically. It was really
difficult for my group of users to log into and to understand its
terminologies. I found www.nexo.com a much better alternative for making
a community site. But then Wordpress allows 35 editors, so unless your
community is bigger than that, it works well for groups too.
But then, maybe you have some other reason to try something different
and Wordpress just isn't doing it for you...
