I can definitely see the benefit in adding Tithe maps to the LAndmark selection of maps as they are such a useful resource.

Dear HER Officer,
As you will be aware Landmark Information Group Limited, in partnership
with Ordnance Survey, has created the digital archive of Historical OS
Mapping dating from 1840 to 1996 at scales ranging from 1:500 to 1:10
000. We have recently added GOAD Fire Insurance Plans & Soviet maps to
this collection and all of these are available as data under licence.
We are always looking to add map data and are currently in detailed
discussions regarding Tithe mapping. We will be providing geo-referenced
mapping alongside a database of the apportionments - as licenced data
and/or an online facility. Feedback from officers at various local
authorities have convinced me that Tithe maps may be a useful addition
to our portfolio of map data - particularly with regards to the new
Heritage Bill and land characterisation.
We are still at an early stage and there will be some time before we
could provide the data - but we would be interested to know whether
these may be useful to HER's throughout the UK. Obviously, I'm not
looking for a "yes, we would want to order immediately" and appreciate
that much will depend on costs & budgets but any feedback at this stage
would be much appreciated! It would influence how we prepare and plan to
deliver the data.
I must add that this is commercially sensitive and would request that
this is not discussed beyond this forum; your assistance in this matter
is greatly appreciated.
Best wishes
Rick
