Did you try the MNI152_T1_* images (from the open/add standard folder)? I'm
not sure how you could beat those as a averaged template brain.

Thanks for clarifying this point. I don't want to study the Collin's MRI
data, while I just load a struc image into FSL as the underlay images. The
averaged MNI152 template is too smooth. The ch2.nii.gz attached in MRIcroN
package has more clear boundary among different tissues. I am just worrying
about its different geometry from FSL's MNI template, for examples, FOV and
origin etc.
