The Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB) Analysis Group is a
large, dynamic group of engineers, mathematicians and programmers,
generating new research and software for use in analysis of brain
imaging data from structural and functional MRI. We require a
postdoctoral researcher to carry out research into Functional MRI
analysis for pharmaceutical-related FMRI studies: test and integrate
research from all of the FMRIB Analysis group (and FSL) into an
optimised, recommended single approach for such studies, and work with
all other members of the Analysis Group in the FMRIB laboratory to
test and integrate our full range of FMRI analysis techniques. The
researcher will apply the resulting approaches to several complete
multi-subject FMRI studies and evaluate the improvements made over
more standard analysis approaches.
The successful applicant will have a first and a higher (e.g.
doctoral) degree in a relevant subject, with strong analysis and/or
neuroscience research experience. The post is to start as soon as
possible, and will run for two years. The starting salary will be in
the range £33,779 - £40,335 p.a. (University Grade 8), however less
experienced scientists will also be considered and if successful will
be appointed on University Grade 7 (starting salary £26,666 - £32,796
p.a.) with an appropriate change in duties.
Further particulars are available from the departmental web site: http://www.clneuro.ox.ac.uk/vacancies
