RUSSIA TEAM LEADER
DEPARTMENT: INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM
LOCATION: Washington, D.C.
The Russia Team Leader will act as the coordinator for
CTFK/International Resource Center activities in and with CTFK's
in-country consultants and with Russian NGOs and state actors. S/he
will be responsible for developing advocacy strategy in Russia in
support of tobacco control policy change. S/he will lead and support
our consultants, national NGOs, and state-actors to identify and
implement potential high impact campaigns which will change government
policy on the ground. S/he will coordinate legal, media and
communications activities in Russia in collaboration with CTFK staff,
NGOs, media and state-actors. S/he will work with in-country entities
to develop advocacy and capacity grants proposals and to assure that
these grants are used in effective advocacy. S/he will be responsible
for helping to solicit, direct and focus the Resource Center's media,
research and legal support capacities to the benefit of the in-country
advocates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support and/or develop strategic plans with in-country advocates
to promote policy change;
* Identify and work with in-country NGOs, activists and state
actors;
* Support the development and implementation of media strategies,
both general and focused;
* Oversee the work of in-country CTFK staff and consultants;
* Liaise with Resource Center staff to assure provision of focused
communications, legal and research support
* Identify and work with potential grantees to develop meaningful
grant proposals that will assure effective advocacy on the ground
* Work with grantees to assure successful execution of grant
projects
* Coordination with Bloomberg Partners on Russia
* Leader of internal CTFK/Resource Center Russia Team
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* A minimum of 7 years in-country, relevant experience
* Excellent analytical, writing and public speaking skills.
* Demonstrated excellence in communication and in working with
peoples from diverse cultures and countries
* Excellent organizational skills; ability to balance and
prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Proficiency in Russian and English a minimum requirement.
* Proven track-record of in-country work.
