Professor Geoff Ward is Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Royal Holloway,
University of London, and author of A Cultural History of American
Literature (Cambridge: Polity Press, 2001); Statutes of Liberty: The
New York School of Poets (St Martin?s/ Macmillan, 1993; 2nd rev. ed.
December 2000); and Language Poetry and the American Avant-garde
(British Association of American Studies, 1993). He co-edited
Re:Joyce (Macmillan/ St Martin?s, 1998, with John Brannigan and Julian
Wolfreys), and Bloomsbury Guides to English Literature: Romantic
Literature From 1790 to 1830 (Bloomsbury, 1993). His collections fo
poetry include Mondegreen(Equipage, Cambridge, 2000) and a translation
of Rainer Maria Rilke's Duino Elegies (Equipage, Cambridge, 1998).
Jeremy Noel-Tod studied English Literature at New College, Oxford.
From 1999 to 2000 he was Assistant Editor of the literary magazine,
Arete. He currently teaches English at the universities of Cambridge
and East Anglia. His poetry criticism has been published in the
London Review of Books, the Times Literary Supplement, Poetry Review,
PN Review, The Guardian and the Telegraph, and his own poetry has
appeared in Painted, spoken. In 2004 he founded Landfill
(www.landfillpress.co.uk) a pamphlet press dedicated to publishing new
poetic sequences.
