Abstracts are now being accepted for CASI 2008 (Conference on Applied
Statistics in Ireland) which will be held at University College
Dublin on Wednesday 16th July. The deadline for abstract submission
is 30th April 2008.
Registration for the meeting is now open.
Invited speakers for the CASI meeting are
Brian Ripley (Oxford) who will speak on 'Fitting Models by Simulation'
Finbarr O'Sullivan (UCC) who will speak on "Statistical Aspects of
Quantitative Imaging with PET for Cancer Applications"
Delegates may also attend the IBC Special session (sponsored by the
Irish Statistical Association) on Gosset to mark the centenary of the
1908 paper on the t-distribution. Speakers at this include
Sir David Cox, Nuffield College, Oxford - Student and statistical
inference
