This Call is open for the presentation of applications for the attribution
of 1 post-doctorate scholarship in the scope of the Measure 1.1.2/FRCT -
"Reinforcement of research teams for Accredited R&D Units", Axis 1.1 -
"Supporting the development of Accredited R&D Units", Program 1 -
"Supporting Scientific Research Institutions" (INCA), of the Science and
Technology Integrated Plan (PICT).
The main objectives of the project "Benchmarking the Azorean Agrarian
System (BAAS)" are: a) to develop an appropriate methodology; b) to
characterize the agricultural system in Azores; c) to collect benchmark
indicators and variables; d) to identify inefficient units and best
practices; e) to communicate results and collaboration in an improvement
action plan; f) development of an expert system for decision support.
The work will be developed at the CEEAplA research center
(http://www.deg.uac.pt/~ceeapla), in the University of Azores, based in
São Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal, under the coordination of Prof.

The period for delivering the applications is between March 15th and April
15th 2008, and the applications submitted after midnight (24h00 - Azorean
local time) of the April 15th will not be accepted for evaluation.
The applicants should have a profile with strong components on engineering
or economics with a PhD in applied mathematics, statistics, operational
research\management science or systems engineering. The applicants should
be fluent in spoken and written English.
The contract to be established is for a one year period, renewable up to a
maximum of six years, and is foreseen to begin in May 1st 2008.
