The Institute for Study of the Earth's Interior (ISEI), Misasa, Japan,

1. Job title: Postdoctoral fellow
2. Field of study: The ISEI is a nation-wide collaborative research
facility established to understand the origin, evolution and dynamics
of the Earth and other planets, and has been designated by the
Japanese Government as a Center of Excellence for the 21st Century
(COE-21) since 2003 for pursuing the "Establishment of International
Research Center for Solid Earth Science". In order to smoothly pursue
this program, the successful applicant is expected to carry out state
of the art research and collaborate with the existing members of the
Institute in scientific projects. Before submitting, applicants should

3. Start of assignment: negotiable
4. Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree; people of any
age, race, nationality or gender are encouraged to apply.
5. Period of employment: Two years (One year extention is possible, if
the applicant qualifies)
6. Job terms:Position: Postdoctoral fellows; Salary: Approximately
300,000 JPY per month (depending on the applicant's career)
7. Closing date: Applications must be received by May 7, 2008
8. Selection: Faculty members will evaluate all applicants based on
the submitted documents and then a list of applicants will be passed
to a steering committee. Applicants may be asked to submit health
certificate.
