Call for Papers: Archaic Song Symposium
The Committee for the Archaic Song Symposium invite abstracts from graduate students working in the
area of Archaic Greek poetry. Papers on any aspect of Greek lyric poetry are welcomed (this may include
comparative studies). This one-day conference will take place in the Classics Centre at Oxford
University on Saturday 18th October. Prof. Chris Carey (UCL) is confirmed as keynote speaker. Prof.
Lucia Athanassaki is confirmed as a session chair, with further session chairs expected to be
announced.
Abstracts, of no longer than 250 words, should be submitted as a pdf attachment by THIS FRIDAY
(Friday 2nd May). As well as name and proposed title, please include your institution and the degree for
which you are currently studying.

available for speakers and will be awarded at the committee’s discretion.
