Hi Alyson,
We would not recommend a chrome grab rail.
We prefer to limit the amount of reflecting surfaces as these can cause
glare, odd reflections etc.
Also metal can be cold to the touch which is an issue for some people
If the client is insistent about using metal, we recommend a brushed
surface which is brushed in two directions.
Metals that are mid silver in colour tend to have an LRV of around 50 as
an LRV of their own. Their LRV reading is nothing to do with reflecting
the surface colours around them.
Hope that helps.

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] LRV of chrome
I have had a query from someone who wants to use chrome grab rails in an
accessible WC rather than the standard Doc M pack white.
I would usually recommend an LRV of at least 30 between the rails and
the wall / contrasting strip, but I've got a mental block when it comes
to chrome? Would it just reflect the colour of the walls back, and so
have virtually the same LRV? What impact would the ceiling lights be
likely to have?
Any thoughts?
