Dear all, To those interested in mine barracks, you may have read that the well-preserved barracks at Luckett will be the subject of a Planning meeting this Thursday, to look at the proposal to re-model the site as two houses. We're not sure how much or little of the original would actually survive this process, since a central wall would be removed and replaced, and even the windows and doors arrangement on the front would be changed. We're currently looking for more information about mining engineer Nicholas Trestrail, who may have designed the building for New Great Consols mining co. - did he do work in East Cornwall in the 1870's? Any info gratefully received asap - thankyou !
