I suspect that it's not just a media/mechanics-related issue is it?
Commenting on someone else's "quickly-written reminiscence" (though I
bet they are not quickly written at all! :-) ) is peer-to-peer whereas
commenting to "highly-edited oral history audio clip" is more like
amature-to-professional or student-to-teacher.
