Dear Colleagues,
In higher education, in the development of quality in many countries, we
are seeing arguably a shift from quality assurance to quality enhancement.
How might we understand this shift? Does it herald a major change in our
sense of quality in higher education and how might it be managed?
Particular issues will include:
The superstructure of quality enhancement The management of quality
enhancement The voice of the student in quality enhancement
The seminar is being organized by the Centre for Higher Education Studies,
Institute of Education, in association with the European Association for
Institutional Research (EAIR) and will be held on 29-31 May 2008. The
seminar will begin in the evening of Thursday the 29th and end on Saturday
lunchtime.

This seminar will open a space for a wide and searching discussion of
these issues. The event will be structured so as to encourage dialogue
within working groups around particular questions with a view to moving
understanding forward.
