Title: Head of the Learning Technologies Group
Salary: £45,397 - £52,628
The Learning Technologies Group (LTG) is the main centre for e-learning
development within the University of Oxford and is recognized as such by
academics and senior members of the University. It is regularly
consulted
for high-level strategic advice and development. The Head of the LTG
is seen
as a key post for the University, especially at such an important and
exciting time in the development of e-learning at one of the leading
universities in the world. We are looking for an experienced, highly
skilled, and strategically-minded individual to promote research,
development, and roll-out, managing a group of over 22 highly skilled
developers and supporters of e-learning. This person will also liaise
closely with other Oxford units such as the Department of Education
(assisting in the development of its highly successful Masters in
E-learning), the Oxford Internet Institute, and national agencies (e.g.
JISC).

• Do you have the motivational skills and vision to develop e-learning
at a world-leading university?
• Are you aware of current trends in the provision of IT services
within Higher Education?
• Do you have a successful track record in writing funding
applications?

As Head of LTG you will co-ordinate and promote the services of the
LTG at
local, national, and international level. You will be responsible for
the
strategic development of the Group reflecting the priorities of Oxford
University and OUCS to promote and develop e-learning. You will have
line
management responsibility for the section leaders within LTG and you
will be
a part of the Department’s Senior Management Group.
