You have fixed it indeed, thanks!
Starting Splat from the command line with the testdata you suggested
works, and on top of that: exporting part of my JCMT HARP cube (from
Gaia to Splat) now also works.
I get dozens of lines of output in the terminal as soon as Splat
starts up; I must have set a verbosity level to "rediculously high"
somewhere in the bug finding process.
