Subject: What are the common Business Classification Schemes
(BCS) or thesauri used in US, UK and New Zealand?
*** APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING ***
Hello listservers,
In Australia the Keyword Triple AAA thesaurus is used widely
in government and in some private sector organisations. I would like to
find out what BCS or thesauri are used widely in countries like US, UK and
New Zealand? Please drop a link to the thesaurus or BCS if you can.
I am aware of the following thus far:
1) Alberta Government's Modified Functional Classification
System Model, Draft March 29, 2007 used in Canada -
http://www.im.gov.ab.ca/publications/pdf/ModifiedFunctionalClassModel.pdf
2) Local Government Classification Scheme (LGCS) used in UK by the
Records Management Society of Great Britain-Local Government Group -
http://www.esd.org.uk/standards/lgcs/lgcs.pdf
Thank you for your time.
