Information Manager
Full time, 18 month contract. £35,500 - £44,500 + Benefits*
Based Central London.
As the independent postal regulator we have for the past six years developed a regulatory framework for the liberalisation of the postal services market, a market that is worth over £7 billion per year and reaches every home and every business on a daily basis.
Based within our Resources Directorate, you will be responsible for leading on the implementation of the Information Management Strategy. This includes the implementation of Records Management processes and procedures for handling both electronic and paper records, Knowledge Management best practice and the management of Postcomm’s responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Data Protection Act 1998. As a non-Ministerial Government department, Postcomm seeks to ensure that it has a records management system in place that complies with the Public Records Act 1958.
Postcomm is in the process of migrating its computer network from a Novell to fully Microsoft environment. In line with this, Postcomm is implementing Microsoft SharePoint 2007 later in 2008 to form its document and records management system. Your responsibilities will include working in tandem with Postcomm’s IT team, technical partners and SharePoint consultant to implement this system successfully.
The ideal candidate for this appointment will be an experienced information professional with demonstrable experience of developing and influencing information management policies and procedures within the public sector.
You will be comfortable operating within a multi stakeholder environment and will have a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to deliver under pressure.
