The series of biennial MOLEC Meetings started in 1976, when the first
Conference was held in
Trento. Since that time the conference was held in Brandbjerg Hojskole
(Denmark), Oxford
(UK), Nijmegen (The Netherlands), Jerusalem (Israel), Aussois (France),
Bernkastel-Kues
(Germany), Prague (Chech Republic), Salamanca (Spain), Nyborg Strand
(Denmark), Bristol
(UK), Jerusalem (Israel), Istanbul (Turkey), Nunspeet (The Netherlands),
Trento (Italy), and now
comes to St.Petersburg.
European Conference on Dynamics of Molecular Systems focuses on the
different
aspects of atomic and molecular interactions, with emphasis on both
experimental and theoretical
studies of the dynamics of elastic, inelastic and reactive encounters
between atoms, molecules,
ions, clusters and surfaces. The meeting deals in particular with:
• MC - Molecular collisions in different environments (plasmas,
atmospheric/interstellar/combustion processes, gas-surface processes,
biologically relevant
systems, etc.)
• CMD - Fundamental problems and ab-initio calculations on molecular
dynamics
• PMI - Photon-matter interactions: spectroscopy, photodissociation and
photo-induced reactions
including femtosecond dynamics.
• UC - Interaction between ultra-cold molecules and atoms, processes in
He droplets.
• VC - Steric effects and vector correlations in reactive processes and
in photodissociation.
The Conference format will include invited lectures, hot topics (some of
them will be also
invited), and poster sessions. The duration of an invited lecture is 35
min (including discussion)
and the duration of a hot topics is 25 min (including discussion). The
participation of young
researchers and students is particularly welcome. For a limited number
of students a cheap
accommodation will be available.

centuries, and is located a few hundred meters from the famous palace of
Empress Catherine the

then also send a copy of the
first page(s) of your passport to the local organizers, before April 14,
2006, together with your
Application Form. The same should be done for each accompanying person.
The children under
16 who come with you and are noted in your passport need not to be
mentioned in your
Application Form, and do not need an individual Visa Application form.
The Application form(s) should be sent as attached file(s) by e-mail to:
[log in to unmask]
The copy of the passport can be either scanned and sent as an attached
file to the above e-mail
address, or faxed to the number +7(812)2471017 with the note:
"To the MOLEC-17 Organizing Committee".
Please note that a visitor to the Russian Federation must have a
passport valid 6 months beyond
the intended stay, a visa, and documents testifying return or onward
travel. You should bear in
mind that the Letter of Invitation (LOI) and the visa are two different
things. You must first
apply for a LOI and then send the LOI together with the visa application
to a Russian Embassy
or Consulate in the country of residence.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will supply each participant to
MOLEC-XVII with a "Letter
of Invitation" authorized by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
which is required for
business-type visas. A copy of the Letter of Invitation will be faxed to
you and the original will
be sent to you by regular mail, if necessary.
You may also apply for a Letter of Invitation or Voucher for
Accommodation by yourself; see
the information about visas to Russia on the web site:
http://www.visatorussiaonline.com/ or
http://www.russian-st-petersburg.com/5-russian-visa/index.htm.
In most countries your visa may be issued with a fax copy of the Letter
of Invitation or Voucher
for Accommodation, but we recommend you to check with the local Russian
Consulate office if
you need the original.
In order to get a Letter of Invitation in time from the LOC the
Application Form should be sent
by April 14, 2006.
Important: Russian law requires that you register your visa within 3
working days of your arrival
in Russia. This registration will be made at the conference desk.
If you wish to attend MOLEC-17 then please fill up and e-mail the
application form below to the
address: [log in to unmask] Each accompanying person should also
supply an Application
Form, however free of scientific data.

Abstract Submission
===============
In your e-mail message please specify the authors and title of each of
your abstracts and if you
prefer an oral talk or a poster display. Most of the oral talks at
MOLEC-17 are 20 min long (+ 5
min for discussion). It is possible to present both an oral talk and a
poster display. Abstracts
should be e-mailed to the Local organizers at: [log in to unmask]
before June 2-nd and in
any case not later than in July 21 in the form explained below, in order
to be included in the
booklet of abstracts. The oral talks may not be guaranteed as they will
be selected by the
Organizing committee.
The abstract file name should have the format: topic-name.pdf; for
instance, PMI-Pravilov.pdf
would mean that participant Pravilov will present his abstract under
topic PMI (Photon-matter
interactions: spectroscopy, photodissociation and photo-induced
reactions including femtosecond
dynamics: see list above). If you intend to present more than one paper
in the same topic then put
sequential numbers in the file name: e.g., PMI-Pravilov-1.pdf,
PMI-Pravilov-2.pdf, etc).
If you cannot submit your abstract in PDF format then please provide us
with a PS, DOC, or
RTF file.
Abstracts should preferably be prepared along the following rules. Page
size: A4 (297x210 mm),
portrait display, margins of 25 mm all around. Title: single-spaced,
Times New Roman, 14
points, boldface. Authors: single-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 points.
E-mail address of
presenting author: id. Affiliation: single-spaced, Times New Roman, 12
points, italic. Abstract
text: 1.5 spaced, Time New Roman, 12 points. The references in the text
should be given in
square brackets, e.g. [1]. Only black-and-white figures are allowed.
Authors should make sure
that the file does not include copyright fonts or other impediments for
reproduction. The abstract
should be no larger than one page.
An abstract template is given on our web site:
http://www.ioffe.ru/MOLEC17/.
Further information can be found on the conference web site
http://www.ioffe.ru/MOLEC17/ which we will keep updated with the most
recent news. Final
details of the Scientific program, arrival information, ets. will be
