MeCCSA Post-Graduate Network Call for Submissions
The MeCCSA Post-Graduate Network is seeking applicants from
post-graduate students interested in hosting or running a
post-graduate event of their choosing. Past events included: "Minding
the Gap: Reflections on Media Practice & Theory," "'Sharing
Experience': Audiences in Media, Communication and Cultural Studies."
Successful candidates will receive up to £500 support from the MeCCSA
PGN (supported by the ADM-HEA). Candidates should submit:
- A proposal including a description of the event
- A preliminary timetable, venue and budget
- A letter of support from their department
Applications will be assessed based on the viability of the event, as
well as how well it meets the aims of the PGN. In addition, the
department in which a candidate belongs must be a registered member of
MeCCSA, and must agree to match or exceed the funding received by the
PGN (this can include waiving fees used to rent out rooms or for
technical support). It should also be noted that the event should be
aimed towards post-graduate students only, though the keynote speaker
may be someone in the academic or practice based community.
Applications should be forwarded to Kaitlynn Mendes, Chair of the PGN:
[log in to unmask] by June 15, 2008, and any questions should be
directed to her.
